A Mexican-American producer, singer, songwriter, and rapper from the west side of Chicago that wants to showcase diversity in his music with influences ranging from Hip Hop, Funk, and R&B.
Deryk Gonzalez was born and raised in Chicago, IL and began making music at the age of 15 when a friend taught him how to play the guitar. He started playing in numerous bands and producing for local artists. He also created comedic rap songs that showed his creative and inquisitive personality. He then decided to step out of the producer role and create his own music.
Rap was an art form Deryk chose to perfect, so he produced songs that included the Hip Hop and R&B music influences he grew up with. On his birthday September 29, 2017, he released his first EP titled, "Attic Day", which has accumulated up to 30,000 streams on SoundCloud. This project is a recollection of his experiences growing up as a teenager in Chicago, the discovery of his sound, and of himself.
He hopes to begin playing shows, continue developing his sound, and release more music in the near future.
